What’s up with your skin? (5)

Yes, it’s #5 and we’re just scratching the surface of your skin.  As a matter of fact, I’m 2 days late in publishing this post and it’s gotten under my skin.

The innate intelligence of the body will use sebaceous glands to pump out the sebum that lubricates skin and hair.  To limit the damaging effect of the sun, melanocytes inject surface cell with the pigment melanin.  This is why we must be prudent while sunbathing and use our knowledge and be sensible.  While the natural sunlight is absolutely necessary for proper synthesis of vitamin D through natural ultra-violet rays from the sun, the artificial use of these rays can be very harmful.

Amazing isn’t it?
