Division or multiplication?

Without cell division, further tissue growth would be prevented by the size limitation of single cells.  In the process of cell division called mitosis, each new daughter cell grows to the size of the parent.  These new cells, more that 200 million ares created in your body every minute, replacing injured and worn out cells.

Old damaged cells self-destruct by releasing a powerful enzyme that digests the cell from within.  The innate intelligence of the body controls all of these functions using the central nerve system as its tool to transmit messages and instructions.
