If the damage to a wound is very severe the innate intelligence of the body will quickly produce scar tissue as an emergency measure to keep the person alive. Scar tissue can be made more quickly than living cells. This often occurs in the person with an acute heart attack. Because of the great amount of scar tissue, the person may never be able to lead an active life again. Scar tissue cannot do the job of the normal healthy living cells. In many cases the innate intelligence of the body, given time and given a good nerve supply will be able to once again produce the cells necessary for healing to take place.
